BellRinger 2026 is Here!

BellRinger has raised over $6.6 million for cancer research since 2022, and in our fifth year, our community’s impact is more critical than ever.

Every year when registration opens for BellRinger, I find myself thinking less about logistics and more about people. I think about the Riders who signed up feeling unsure, the volunteers who showed up before sunrise, the teams that grew closer mile by mile, and the quiet moments on Ride Day when the full weight of why we do this settles in. As we open registration for BellRinger 2026, our fifth annual Ride, I’m reminded that this community continues to be the most inspiring part of the experience for me.

My own BellRinger journey has been shaped by watching people surprise themselves. I’ve seen first-time Riders train for months toward a goal they weren’t sure they could reach, only to cross the finish line with a new sense of confidence and pride. BellRinger has a lot in common with signing up for a marathon: the decision itself is powerful. Once you commit, you grow into the challenge. You build strength, resilience, and belief — often realizing along the way that you’re capable of far more than you expected.

That willingness to stretch is what defines BellRinger, and it’s why our call this year is to Go Beyond. Going beyond doesn’t look the same for everyone. For some, it’s riding farther than ever before. For others, it’s fundraising more boldly, showing up consistently, or simply taking a step out of their comfort zone. What inspires me most is seeing how personal goals, when taken on collectively, create something much bigger than any one effort.

The sense of community that forms around BellRinger is unlike anything else I’ve experienced. Friends invite friends. Families ride together. Colleagues form teams and discover new connections outside the office. Training rides turn into shared routines, and fundraising becomes a group effort grounded in encouragement and accountability. As we head into our fifth year, bringing more people into this community is one of the most meaningful ways we can expand our impact.

Reaching our year five milestone has also given me space to reflect on how much BellRinger has grown — not just in size, but in purpose. In just a few years, this Ride has become a powerful expression of what happens when people commit year after year to a cause that matters. It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t come from a single moment, but from showing up consistently with intention and heart.

Every mile ridden and every dollar raised through BellRinger supports researchers at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, whose work advances cancer research well beyond Georgetown. The discoveries happening at Georgetown Lombardi contribute to national research efforts, influence standards of care, and help shape the future of cancer prevention and treatment. Knowing that this community directly fuels that kind of impact is what makes BellRinger so meaningful to me.

As we open registration for BellRinger 2026, I hope you’ll consider joining us — whether your first or fifth and whether on a rental, e-bike, a Huffy or a Lynskey. Set a goal that challenges you. Invite people to ride alongside you. Let this be the year you go beyond what feels familiar or comfortable. This community continues to inspire me every day, and I can’t wait to see how we rise together in our fifth year.

With gratitude,
Bridget
